If empegwiki.org gets populated with all the content from riocar.org and stays up to date with volunteer contributors, I don't see a big need for the current riocar.org site, and it could be converted over to the wiki software easily, I'd guess. Why not just run the wiki software on the riocar.org site instead?
riocar.org has many different types of content on it including a news feature and a photo gallery. I actually think that installing a FAQ engine (such as phpFAQ) would be a better way to go than either leaving the FAQ as it is or moving it to a wiki.
Wikis are great for collecting information and creating guides - less so for many of the other things that are currently on riocar.org.
However, I agree with the sentiments about multiple domains. Perhaps longer-term we can look to create faqs.riocar.org, wiki.riocar.org and forum.riocar.org. It would be nice to have a single theme across the three sites too - but this all depends on whether people feel like putting the time in to do this.
