I don't think Season Pass recorded the same show on multiple channels either, but I am out of practice. I think the only way to do that is do a "keyword search" and set it to auto-record.

Harmony is definitely the way to go for a remote. The DirecTV one isn't very good and it doesn't support discrete on/off codes on all tvs... even ones that support it.
