Kenwood designed its wheel remote to be mounted behind the wheel (on a spoke), so that you can reach its buttons with your extended index and middle fingers while holding the wheel normally. Pioneer's remote mounts on inner side of the wheel rim, with most of the buttons facing forward and operated with one's thumb (volume is still behind).
