I was poking the local Electronics Swap meet and I ran into a COLOR LCD Display that if my memory serves me correctly is almost the same size at the VFD in my Empeg...
In a flash the Geek side of my brain switched into COOL new toy mode and I picked it up for 20 bucks... But I digress

So back to my question has anyone given any thought to a EMPEG II that would be color or and maybe with a few more bells whisles I would glady max out my Visa for one. I know we have some real brain power here so I though I would pose the question and see if anyone bites



The display is out of a "1/2 VGA" hand held computer its a tad bigger then the empeg Face (DAMMM)

I would still be willing to MAX out my visa for a color Empeg or even a Remote dash mounted face plate (maybe touch screen)

I have already tried the display Export then running it to a computer then out to a 5in lcd didn't like it (too fuzzy)

Talk very nicely to patrick if money is no object if it can't be done by patrick (pca) it can't be done !

u consider haveing a laptop or other computer running color visuals? and port the song titles and what not from hijack?

I tried that it works but I was looking to do it with out the added space of a laptop..

it seems to me that there might be some way to add a Daughter card for VGA out heck even CGA or EGA would work a Standard RGA would be nice then I could tie it into the video system and display it back to other monitors. I would gladly fork out 1000 or so to get this done.

I have 4 Video Displays, DVD player, 2 Side looking mini camera and a Cheap FLIR system (Forward looking IR camera) All of this is shoehorned into a baby blazer so this leaves little room for the laptop

1 Display in each sun visor and 1 in each seat headrest
Camera's are the little 30 Dollar Ebay ones that are mounted in the extra space in the side view mirror mounts, IR camera is a 11 IR led X-10 Style in a custom water proof box mounted in the front grill.

EMPEG (my pride and Joy) Wired to a Pioneer EQ 9200 (only thing the Empeg needed was a Sub out)

Diamond s600s Speakers all around and 2 Mack Daddie 10 in the back. And just to Dim the head lights at adle an Xtant 604 for the doors and a Xtant 1001 for the Subs.

The whole thing just screams "YES I AM A COMPUTER GEEK, and I do own an Offical BORG something"

Give me a week or so Right now the Box is out at the local wood workers shop I didn't like the carpet so he is redoing it in flat black piano style (I think that would look better)

I checked out Ebay the Camera I have are still there here is a few photos till I can get time to show the finished products

This is a photo of the Camera's in the side view mirrors (I hot gluded them in place and Drilled a 1/16 hole for the camera, then I covered the hole with a Small piece of clear plastic

This is the camera mounted in the front grill (I'll post a installed photo once I fire up the scanner and get one ready

Let me repharse the Question..
I have seen add on digital outs for the Empeg, add on tuners we have some Major brain Power here how hard would it be to make an ADD on VIdeo card so you could connect the empeg to a LCD screen..

So come on fire up that grey matter and lets see it.

The people who attended the Europe 2002 empeg meet have a pretty good idea how hard it would be, and how incredibly cute the result could be. But they're not allowed to talk about it. I'm one of them so I'd better shut up now.

Heh, we just threw a birthday party for one of our co-workers who is from Australia. A bunch of people dressed up like the Crocodile Hunter. We had blow up crocodiles laying around. We even had the dog wearing a T-shirt that said "Dingo" on it.

When he walked in, we yelled "Surprise" and gave him a giant can of Fosters. He didn't seem very happy about the beer choice...I think he switched to the good stuff right after.
