I'm having a lot of weird problems with the ported code for fast connections (randomly just hangs or the connection dies). I know emptool isn't really maintained at this point (like it doesn't handle refcount = 0 tunes -- it tries to put them in unattached items), so is there any way to test fast connections with the emptool libs? I wanted to add some printouts that display when the connection and fast connection are opened and closed to make sure i'm controlling it in the same way ...

Any ideas?

Interestingly, it appears that if you open and close a fast connection too many times (or too fast?), it sometimes can't reopen (maybe it requires a time out first?). I switched it so the fast connection opens before a sync, and closes after a sync (so there's not as much trashing) and it seems to be working a lot better now.

Fast connection = a lot faster, by the way
