I am an idiot!!! I loaded the 1.03 version of the firmware for the Mark I onto my RioCar(Mark2).

The problem is that it won't boot past "Starting Radio Failed". I can't get the serial/ethernet/usb connection to work. If there is a way to get this thing running again, please tell me. I am not worried about losing my songs as I have probably lost them already and have them backed up.

You should still be able to reinstall a 2.0b13 (or 1.03, if you wish) .upgrade file just fine. Make sure you follow the instructions exactly, especially the parts about when to and when not to attach power to your player.

Complete instructions for upgrading the player firmware are here.

By installing the wrong firmware, you have not hurt anything. Just read through those notes carefully and make sure not to apply power to the player until the software tells you to do so (like Bitt said).

I have finally got it to work...Thanks for all of your replies, I was getting a little nervous last night but everything is working perfect.

I went into Hyperterminal and pressed Ctrl-A at the right time which brought me to the pump. I then closed Hyperterminal without exiting out of the pump and went into the UpgradeEmpeg.exe I followed the instructions and it found the serial port. It tried looking for the empeg and I removed the power and plugged it back in and it grabbed the empeg before it went through its bootup process and installed the firmware perfectly.

Interesting procedure, but the complicated thing with Ctrl+A wasn't necessary. You merely needed to leave the power unplugged from the player until the upgrader told you to apply power (as Bitt and I said before). Would have produced the same result.
