We XP users need 2 have more Ethernet & USB support. I have read the FAQ about this issue. But I wish the player would B found by the emplode & STAY FOUND. I don't know how many times I have found the player once and spent time arranging new songs into the player. Only 2 find that the connection has been lost and I gotta do that s**t over again.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!

Can we please focus a little more on us Windows XP users on the next beta release?

Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease?

Yes, this is probably the #1 bug at the moment. (With RDS a close second, before I accidentally irritate anyone...)

Incidentally, this is the first I've heard that Ethernet is suspect under Windows XP -- I thought it was just USB that had problems?

My bad. It is just USB that has the issue.

Ooops. Sorry.

I found a "fix" for the XP USB issue (At least on my machine). It seems that XP "claims" the connection and emplode won't open it thinking that XP has a hold of it..

What I do is:

1. Right click "My Computer" and go to "Properties" then open "Device Manager".
2. Find the RioCar under USB and disable it. (leave this window open)
3. Start emplode.
4. Go back to Device Manager and "Enable" the RioCar.

Works for me..

EDIT: The REAL solution for me was to steal the NIC from the laptop that wasn't using it and pop it into the new laptop (that has built-in ethernet). Now, the built in ethernet connects to my work's LAN and the 2nd one connects either directly to my empeg or to my home LAN. (My work has assigned IP's, no DHCP.)

I've had a odd problem with ethernet occasionally where the player does show up the window but when I select it, emplode complains that the player is no longer there. If I try again then it works.

It's probably my bizarre network configuration though. Windows really doesn't like the fact I've got several routes.
