Nice price but one word puts that back in the copy-cat bin from whence it came: iPod. The iPod is still cooler, sleeker, (and more expensive...).
Oh a blasphemous note, I got t play with the Creative Nomad 3. Yes, I did wash my hands thoroughly when done touching the accursed item (since I have a foolish hatred for CreativeLabs). Anyway, it was kind of nice. 20gig, it had line and mic in (I think), and could record to WAV or straight to MP3. That's kind of cool for people who need recording as an extra boost from their player.
Too bad the CL Nomad 3 has that lame scroll wheel to navigate. It's just too imprecise to be any good. Rock on 4 button empeg. I can get around that player now faster than oil spreads on water.

I've played with one of these in Good Guys.
One word: tacky. It was *really, really* plasticky...

Ick. It reminds me of one of those first generation hand held electronic football games ( for those too young to remember). Actually, I think the football game at least had a bit more style than this thing does...
Granted, looks are not everything. But in this case...

Ha! I remember those. Baseball too! They were a blast. I noticed in Walmart last Christmas that they have re-encarnated them! They are slightly more modern, but definitely the same thing. I played it for about 10 minutes, then remembered how simple it was to run the sidelines.... You'd think they could have updated the AI a bit.

Aw... where would the fun be in that...
I picked one of the original ones up on ebay last year, and play it every now and then. If anyone is really desperate, I can try to record in those all too familiar chirps.

Thanks to someone on this board for posting Homestar Runner in an OT post, I'm hooked! So, enjoy the retro handheld.
And yes, I have a few of those. It was as close as I got to Nintendo 8 bit before I actually got one, like 3 years after it came out!

Yeah, THAT iPod knock off is supposed to be the self-proclaimed mold from which all HDD based portables will be cast? But wasn't that pressed from the mold that is the iPod?

Reading the reviews it appears that it is not as "elegant" as the Ipod. Gee, wondering if money saved ($300 with rebate) is worth it. Edigital is supposed to have an odyssey player out soon but lots of promises broken as to delivery
