I can't reliably reproduced this, but it seems to me that sometimes the "hold the bottom button to toggle vis/info" feature doesn't work the first time I try it after a reboot. Many times I've held the bottom button but it didn't switch until I released it and did it a second time.

Has anyone had this happen to them, and can anyone reliably reproduce it?

I've noticed it since about 12b, and it seems to happen quite often. I think it happens to me most often if the volume indicator is displayed, although I have seen it happen occasionally at other times.

Trying to reproduce it is more likely to cause me to crash the car than having the visuals on but I will have a look at it again later.

I have noticed it too, from time to time. Don't know why or when.

Hmm, here's an idea. It seems to happen to me mostly when I first get into the car. Does it happen only the first time after a switch from AC to DC power?

Could be true, Tony, the only 2 times i remember, i still was in the garage :-)

Nils
P.S. But at which other time should i use the function anyways ?? its always my first keypresses

EMPEG People, didnt you want to change the behaviour to simply get back to the last setting before switching off ?? it is annoying this way ....

-from text only switching to full screen vis, them having to switch on info-line ...

If it is a deliberate decision, i.e. kind of an "Are you SURE you want these distracting visuals flickering away in the corner where they may make you crash and damage your lovely car, or worse, hurt someone?" then I can live with it. Pressing the button twice, the first time I get in the car is no big deal.

But if it is a bug, and is going to happen randomly on other occasions, obviously it would be nice to have it fixed.

Of course, if it's between this and the 'skipping' bug, I know which I'd rather have fixed

It's certainly not deliberate. I THINK it could be a bug related to one of the PIC's (and not specific to the bottom button) in which case it's not likely to get fixed (as the PIC code is not re-writable).

Hugo is the person to say for sure, though...

I don't think it's a PIC problem, the button ups & downs are fine. The issue used to be a lot worse in earlier releases - I thought it had been fixed, in fact. Back on beta11 is happened all the time.

Hi Tony,

Happens to me every time I turn the player on. Takes two goes to get the bottom button hold-in feature to work, it's fine after the 1st time. This is on the MKI with beta12C and is quite repeatable.

Regards,

John thinks he's fixed this one. Should be in the next release.

FYI- Happened to me twice today on my lunch hour, after installing RC1.
