The play button on the web interface of hijack dosen't appear to work any more for me... I've had the same result with the append button, etc. I can stream the song, or download it... But it appears none of the controls that determine what the "player" itself does, work anymore. I am running the 2.00 kernel. I even tried upgrading to the latest version of hijack, to no avail. I haven't used the web interface in a while, and the only thing i can think that i changed between when it worked before and now was that i upgraded from the 2.0 Beta 13 kernel to 2.00 Final kernal.

Please help!

Thanks!

Joey DiJulio

Works fine for me, both for the default Hijack interface as well as for CharcoalGray99's XML interface.

Did you do something to IE in the intervening time, such as adding ad-blocker or popup-blocker software? I found that after installing ad-aware, I had to put "http://empeg" on its trusted sites list or certain Javascript features like popups and the screen refresh didn't work.

Also, did you add anything to config.ini to "secure" the empeg? Certain parts of the ethernet connectivity can be configured to deliberately fail so that those connected over the network can't hurt it.

Did you ever manage to solve this problem ?

My play button on the hijack web interface has been broken for ages. Software and kernel re-flashes havent fixed it.

I find it extremely unlikely that the "play" button is broken in Hijack. So let's first make sure that you are really discussing Hijack's web interface, rather than one of the XML addons like charcoalgray's version.

I have attached a screenshot of a typical genuine Hijack web interface. The Play links work perfectly from this screen.

Is this very similar to the web interface you have on your player?

Well, in that case it is up to you to provide more information. This works for nearly everybody, so there's something specific about your situation that you have not communicated to us yet.

I suppose a good place to start is to post the COMPLETE config.ini file from your player, as an ATTACHMENT please.

Pardon my asking, but ARE YOU CERTAIN that the config.ini you posted is EXACTLY the one from your player? The behaviour you have described is really only explainable by one thing, a hijack option from the config.ini file. And I don't see that option in the file you posted..

If you really insist that it is accurate, then you'll need to experiment some more and try to provide some information to help us figure it out.

It is most definately the genuine article.

If I am able to stream successfully, does that imply all configuration settings (PC and empeg side - security etc.) are correct to allow PLAY to theoretically work ?

No. Not at all.

Ok done some more troubleshooting ....

The PLAY link seems to be sensitive to whether the player is running, or in standby.

It would appear if the player software is running (not in standby), the PLAY command does in fact work.

If the player is in standby, the PLAY command will not wake the player AND play the playlist, however if I manually wake up the player (top button) the playlist begins where I had previously requested from the hijack web page.

If the player is in standby, the stream command works fine (altough the player appears to still be in standby mode - blinking LED)

Is this behaviour normal ? Hope this garbled description makes sense.
