Too many frames does not slow down the boot time, but it causes the screen to blink strangely near the end of the boot sequence because the player app and the kernel begin to fight for who's painting the screen. a3v3 has less than 27 frames, and it starts blinking like you said. which is VERY COOL when you're using the matrix bootup animation.

Okay, I editted the "Forest" one above by removing all frames after 60, then deleting every other frame (to give me 30 frames total). Here is what I've got... I think the car drives too fast, I may have been better off just using the first 30...

Loren, I don't think you'll get much of this weather in your parts, but check out this video (wagons).

I think my monitor just got pregnant. You really need to warn people before posting videos of mid-winter mayhem like that. ;^)

Damn, that looks like fun. I think my van would flip over if I tried doing slides and spins like those.

"Motocross" attached. It's a little fast, and I'm not sure how it'll look on the empeg (haven't tried loading it yet).
The images from the Kenwood site are pretty cool, but they pose some problems because of the larger size (176 x 32 as opposed to 128 x 32) and the greater number of frames (80+ in some cases).
Let me know how it works.

Thanks, that was very quick.
I had to do some touching up on it to make the rider stand out but it looks pretty good.

Just make sure the ice is thick enough - we had a guy here put a 3 month old SUV (can't recall brand) through the ice just outside Gothenburg this winter. Took him about a week to arrange a rescue - I'm sure the electrical system appreciated the saltwater...

Maybe one of these days you can work up something girly with flowers and butterflys and such for my wife.
Uh oh. I made the mistake of mentioning this thread to her when it started and now she asks me all the time when the pretty animation is coming.

Just click on the Preview button for each animation, then right-click on the animated gif that appears and save it. Use JEmplode's animation editor to open the animated gif and upload it to your Empeg.

You might also want to delete some frames (either the first 1/2, or every other one) to keep the number of frames down to about 30 or so.

Hey Brad! check this out!
Looks best if you use the last frame as your static boot.

Not sure if you chose to use the animation i came up with but in case you did, I would like to provide you with a better file than the one posted.
I notice that the ani tool in jemplode does not convert these 32 color animations to 4 colors very well. So I decided to convert them myself. The result is a much clearer animation. The previews may not look great but at least this is exactly what you will see on the empeg screen.
Take a look at this preview and the original file and yoll see what i mean
