Hi,

My empeg has developed a strange problem (at least I haven't noticed until yesterday).

When I have the interior lights on, the empeg dims its display as it should.

But sometimes the empeg will go to full brightness (normal) for 1-2 seconds, then dim again. This seems to happen when I put the car into neutral after giving it a good spin or when braking.

The problem is not reproducable, it only happens 2-3 times during 1 hour of driving.

The car has a brightness adjustment potentiometer, so I can make the lighting comfortable. I recently adjusted this downwards, so perhaps this is what is contributing to the problem.

It's surely a bug, but the question is whether is an empeg-bug or a car-bug? :)

What can be done to resolve this?

I'm not sure how the detection works (have a Mk I),
but it could be that you've set the potentiometer right by
the threshold value. While you're driving (ie higher revs) the
generator keeps the voltage above the threshold, but when
you let let it idle the voltage drops a little, taking you below the
threshold...

That's what I figured too.

I have trying to replicate this error ever since, but it seems the problem has gone away. Maybe it's just my imagination :)
