I picked up an apple tv. On unboxing I discovered apple had wrapped the perimeter with a piece of thin black plastic, tacky on one side.

Now I've been thinking about the router sitting on the bookshelf in my bedroom, and how much blue light It's indicators shed.

That bit of tape, normally to be tossed, was perfect to mute the glare. The indicators still show, but it doesn't light the room up.
