I recall Rob and friends saying there were more tuners than players sold right now, but I am ordering my tuner online now from the store.sonicblue.com and they show an out of stock condition!

Oops.

Hopefully this is an error.
(can anyone make me feel better about it?)

Happy empegging,
-Greg

I'm not surprised - tuners are shipping to the store as and when they're manufactured, so the initial batch on which the store went live was probably no more than 100 or maybe 200. There should be around 1000 units out of the factory within the next few days so that stock status will probably change on a regular basis until the initial rush is satisfied.

Surely A better system would be that they are on back order.
People usually wouldn't mind knowing they will get the product if a bit delayed then not even being able to get the thing. Maybe you should get SB to talk to the web-ordering designers.

I had a feeling that might happen. Order often and order early when it comes to those of us that have to have new toys.

I agree, muzza. When SonicBlue purchased Empeg, I thought it would lead to more mature shipping and order fulfillment processes. This hasn't been the case, as far as I can see. While SonicBlue seems to have more resources to attack these problems, it doesn't look as if it's turning into results for Joe Empeg. I hope this continues to improve. Maybe it has improved a bit from the early Empeg days, but sometimes I think all it's done is added paperwork and gridlock. I guess I'll have to check in to the empeg store on a daily basis now to keep this from happening again.

Sorry for the rather critical rant, guys, but I'm just being honest here... Does anyone think Empeg's logistics have actually improved since the SonicBlue acquisition? A show of hands...

Somewhere in the state of Rhode Island is a FedEx truck trying to find me so that I can sign for my tuner!

While a little confused that I was shipped a supposedly out of stock item, I am surely not going to complain when it arrives!

I wonder how much trouble it will be to install! Once thats done I'll be able to lock the sled down with those tabs!

Be well,
-Greg

Shouldn't take too long, then.
