I, as many of you, rely on All Music Guide to find correct information on album and track names, albums where tunes on compilations originally appeared etc. Today I found disagreement between AMG record for Pink Floyd's The Wall and my copy, Free-CDDB entries and CD-NOW listing. Their listing has 'O.K.' listed as 20th track (after 'Comfortably Numb') and misses the last, 26th, 'Outside the Wall'. I can't find 'O.K.' anywhere in Free-CDDB, and certainly not on my CD.

I just thought I would turn our resident Pink Floyd experts' attention to this little curiosum...

My Copy has the following.. ;)

Disc 1
1. 3:19 In The Flesh?
2. 2:29 The Thin Ice
3. 3:09 Another Brick In The Wall Part 1
4. 1:50 The Happiest Days Of Our Lives
5. 3:59 Another Brick In The Wall Part 2
6. 5:35 Mother
7. 2:47 Goodbye Blue Sky
8. 2:07 Empty Spaces
9. 3:30 Young Lust
10. 3:36 One Of My Turns
11. 4:16 Don't Leave Me Now
12. 1:14 Another Brick In The Wall Part 3
13. 1:16 Goodbye Cruel World

Disc 2
1. 4:41 Hey You
2. 2:39 Is There Anybody Out There
3. 3:24 Nobody Home
4. 1:33 Vera
5. 1:26 Bring The Boys Back Home
6. 6:22 Comfortably Numb
7. 1:35 The Show Must Go On
8. 4:16 In The Flesh?
9. 4:23 Run Like Hell
10. 3:57 Waiting For The Worms
11. 0:29 Stop
12. 5:19 The Trial
13. 1:43 Outside the Wall

FWIW, I'm sure I pulled this data from CDDB (or something similar) when I ripped this, and this track listing comes from the .nfo files that I created... I have the case, but it's at home.

I think I know why this happened.

I think it's a typo by whoever transcribed it into AMG. They were going by the album sleeve, with the sloppy-calligraphy lyric sheet, when they typed into AMG.

If you look at the lyric sheet for Comfortably Numb (JPG Attached), you will see that the line "OK, Just a little pin prick" has the word "OK" on its own line with an underline beneath it. I think the person typing in the titles thought that this was a separate song.

Sacrelige, really, that they wouldn't know Comfortably Numb by heart.

And now that I look at it even more closely, it's not even an underline, it's the top of the J below it.

But you have to admit, if you're not looking closely and you don't know the song, you might think that line indicated a new song.

Hmmm... sounds a bit fishy to me. I don't recognise that track name (O.K.) and I know there's a track called "Outside the Wall" on there. Unfortunately I can't check 'cos I've lent my copy to a friend. I was going to check the timings with those listed on AMG.

Heh, not only that, but I got the pic of the lyrics including cropping, image processing, uploading, and editing it into the message itself.

I'm just quick, that's all.

That's what I mean you must have moved quick to get all that done. Rumour has it that you're just as quick in the bedroom as well .

Yes, that's from the S110. It's a little blurry because I did it in a hurry and it's from the CD version of the lyrics which are printed very very tiny on the page. The entire song, on the page, is only about 3.5 inches tall.

I've found mistakes on AMG before. They're only human in typos, but superhuman in the amount of info they put up!

Has anyone else noticed that they've started to do song reviews??

Yeah, I glanced at their song review of "Comfortably Numb", and the reviewer has it all wrong.

That would correspond to contents of my CDs, as well (up to few small timing differences - different edition) - so, AMG is wrong on this one...

Thanks

You never cease amazing me, Mr. Holmes!

Thanks!

(Actually, Marcus is right: the speed with which this little investigation has been conducted is even more amazing then the investigation itself!)
