I am now beginning to take orders for custom wood fascia's. Currently I can make fascia's in Purpleheart, Zebrawood, Bird's Eye and Maple Burl. I am very limited in how many I can make of each type but I will order some new wood today (including some new types). If you have a certain wood you are looking for, please let me know ASAP so I can try and order it. As for the Maple burl, I can make about 8 more and then it will be a while before I can make more. I have to order the burl in a big block and then have a woodshop cut it down to the correct size. Due to the nature of maple burl, many of the pieces I get are unusable. Cost for the fascia's are $100 + shipping. Each order will receive an order number and I will make the fascia's in the order they are received. Lead time will vary from 1-3 weeks depending on number of orders. Remember, I can only make 1-2 fascia's a day. Please send your orders to [email protected]. Thanks, Rob

Do you have any pictures of these types of wood? I'd like one to match the wood appearance in my Audi, but I don't know what wood matches the best. Good sized pictures would allow me to run out to the car and compare with the laptop.

Attached is Maple Burl w/medium walnut stain.

There are many stains available, over the next couple days I will make another burl fascia's and stain it with multiple tints. Most likely your Audi has Maple Burl (at least that is what I have seen in most cars with wood trim).

Attached is Lacewood with Walnut stain.

I mistakingly called this Zebrawood when I first posted the picture of it. The Zebrawood is MUCH different. It is a light wood with dark black grain in it. I'll cut an example over the next couple days.

Attached in Purpleheart with no stain at all. I haven't tried staining it yet (the bad news is I broke it in half accidently). I'll cut another one.

For a bunch of examples of wood, go to this URL and click on the Exotic wood like. From there you can see a bunch of examples. Their pictures are not the best so actual results will vary a bit. Woodcraft. This is where I purchase all my wood from.

I wish there were a way to get the handle done in wood, too. Then I might consider replacing my black-plastic dash bits with wood and then do the empeg in wood, too.

I guess the handle would need some kind of a metal core. Either that, or it would need to be made of incredibly strong wood.

I agree.. Would be nice to do in wood but way too much work. I will not venture in that direction. I don't even have the CAD files to begin trying.

Attached: CrazyMelki's Maple Burl (walnut stain) fascia on my Empeg being checked for correct fit and usage. Now all it needs is a coat of clear varnish and it's ready to ship.

now that is purdy... I wonder if the alternating hot/cold dry/humid weather of the southern US wouldnt take a toll on that beautiful scrollwork. Maybe I could buy if I used my player exclusevly indoors,

For those of you who wanted to see the various stains I have to color the Maple Burl fascia's with, here are some links to some images. Please note these pictures were taken in direct sunlight so you could see their true color. The colors starting at the top left going clockwise are Dark Walnut, Natural, Red Oak, Redwood, Mahogany and Vermont Maple. The color that is on the empeg in some of the images is Medium Walnut. And finally in another image you will see an unfinished Maple Burl Fascia.

Stains 1
Stains 2
Stains 3
Stains 4

Hope you enjoy. I'm running low on Maple Burl already so if you want one in Burl, let me know ASAP.

He CruzThs, I took a look on the wood site you gave and I'd like to ask if it could be possible to order a fascia in one of these woods :

- bibinga (rosewood)
- Monkey Pod
- Tulipwood

The Stain4 seems to look very bright near the White color , do you confirm ?

PS: you work is very beautyful !!!!!!!!!

If you mean the color of the actual fascia in image 4, that is unfinished Maple Burl (no stain at all). Basically that is what the fascia's look like right after they come off the mill and had a little sanding.

Nosferatu - The only one of those woods I can use is the Bubinga (african rosewood). I may even have a piece in stock to cut, I'll have to check. The other 2 exotics do not come in the size I need. When I order the wood from Woodcraft it must be 3/8" thick. Funny that you picked 2 that don't come in that size since most of them do. Sorry about that.

Let me know if you want one cut in the Rosewood.
