Any reason my new Mk2a would choke on 2.0b7 seems fine at Home but when put in the car starts out fine but push a remote button (?) and player locks up and when pulled from dock reinserted boots up to 'starting audio' then freezes.
Another issue is it seems not to keep time after being unpluged. I read the post from Hugo about the cap being responsible for such but it appeared fine.
My Mk2 older player has no problem w/either 2.0b7 or time.

Before assuming it's a 2.0b7 problem, downgrade it to 1.03 and see if it goes away.

Oh I never ass-u-me 1.03version works fine on it at Home & Car. Version 2.0b7 works fine on it when at Home but freezes in Car and I have to reload .upgrade file. Even w/o VolAdj loaded it does it. The time setting loss occurs under all conditions & software versions. I think I'll have to send her back on the time deal it's just not keeping the time.

OK I've narrowed it down to this. On my Mk2a w/2.0b7 on it runs fine at Home but when put in the Car is OK until I press the Rio-remote Source/Power button. Then the player locks up and trying to reboot it by pulling it out and reinserting into dock doesn't work, the boot screen stops at Starting Audio... and I can get no more out of the player until I reinstall software.
Update...Using the Rio remote & pressing Source/Power at Home invokes freezing of the player as well so it's not just in the Car as I thought originally.

Press and hold, or just press?

Just a press, cause I want the Aux function then I switch back because one of my Amps switches off for some reason when in Car and switching from player to Aux turns it back on. I get a muted sound until I perform this scenario. I reported this in bugs awhile back.
My player (Mk2a) does have another problem (clock doesn't keep time when unplugged) if this is any help or has anything to do w/that particular area.

UPDATE pressing almost any button will cause the Rio car to freeze up. The only remedy seems to be to use upgrade and change to version 1.03 if I try to reinstall 2.0b7 again the player remains frozen when upgrade is done.

Just a random thought. Have you tried grabbing 2.0b7 again, this time with GetRight? Perhaps it's just a corrupted download.

I read the thread your talking about, I think the file I D/L was thru Getright originally & it seems to work on my older player just fine but to be sure I D/L it again using Getright. Didn't seem to make any difference, problem still occurs. It doesn't matter if it's Consumer/Developer either, the odd thing to me is when trying to reinstall 2.0b7 after this happens the player still freezes once upgrader has rebooted the player

UPDATE- Turns out the problem my new Rio car was having with 2.0b7 and not keeping time was a bad chip. The unit was shipped, fixed (they didn't have any chips so they inserted my HDD into another player) and returned in exactly a week. Many Thanks to Mr. Moss, philp69 & any else involved.
