Anyone have any insight on where it went?
As of 5:34 pm, Pacific time January 10 2002, it is right where it has always been.
Maybe their server was temporarily down?

I was wondering the same thing. I tried to visit it earlier and it was down. Thought that was weird.
It's still down right now.

I am writing this less than four minutes after you made your post, and in another window I am looking at the site. It is not down.
I am running Netscape. Could they have made some change to their site that broke it for Internet Explorer?

Nope, tried Opera, and Netscape. Nothin'. There's a thread about it missing in rec.audio.car too, so we aren't the only ones.

I'm not having any problems over here. The IP address www.installdr.com resolves to currently is 204.177.210.36..But since it's on a virtual server, you can't access it by ip .

I'm now at home and it's not working here either. I'm able to ping the address and run a traceroute just fine, though.

Hi.
This is weird.
I just logged in at home (via ssh) and am able to get to installdr from there. That is accessing it from IP 217.81.253.78. I can't access it from my work computer (IP 128.176.128.8) though, the host immediately closes the incoming HTTP connection.

sven

Hi Tony.
Sure, but it rarely occures that you can actually connect to that host from any IP, but seemingly based on that originating IP, the connection is either working correctly, or immediately closed again by the host.
Not being able to resolve that host wouldn't have me wondering at all, but being able to resolve and connect, does leave me wondering what the hell they are doing on their webserver.
cu,
sven

Buggers to all that... i just need some install directions! heheh.
Can someone who can see the site... please post or email me the pdf for an install in a '91 Ford Explorer, if they have it? My buddy would much appreciate it. I gotta get him to sign on here so he can do this for himself... sheesh.

Oh, so it's not DNS, I'll bet it's some kind of a routing problem.
I've had that sort of thing happen before. In fact, it was with this BBS. My home connection could see it and my work connection could not see it. A traceroute revealed that the transatlantic link was the fault. One of them was down, and depending on which ISP I was dialed into, the packets were routed two different ways.

let me know if you want the 95 one ? the picture of the 91 model looks like it's the kind where you stick the two keys in the sides and pull the head unit out like a vw
