So i got the player to run, looks great. -> Now i have another problem: i've upgarded the software and installed hijaack and it works, but i can't connect to the player from Emplode or Jemplode :-( they don't find the player, tried both USB and Serial - Even though serial works as i can use a terminal and have upgarded the software. - couldn't fint any info on it in the faq, any ideas?

update: Now Emplode finds it but says the version of emplode is too old, and Jemplode still dosen't find it.

update 2: I can hear disc activity when jemplode scans for a player, but it stil says it itn't there

You have to uninstall the previous version of Emplode on your PC, then install the version you download from the empeg website if you want to use the version 2 software.

Please also ensure you use a version of emplode that mathces your empeg software, if you downloaded hijack or version 2.0B7 software, download the matyching 2.0B7 emplode, if you downloaded the 2.0B11 software, use the matching emplode.

Do not simply try and install the newer emplode over the older version - uninstall the older one and reinstall the newer one seperately.

You must use the corresponding version of emplode - if you load Beta 11 onto the player, you must use Beta 11 emplode on your PC. Likewise, you need to ensure that you are using a version of JEmplode that is new enough for the player.

For the record, this one was in the FAQ all along.

Not to mention the fact that the "emplode is too old" message should have been a hint.

Well if you're going to be like that..

From download site:

Release Notes - READ THESE FIRST!

From the release notes:

You should install the new emplode or emptool before installing this
release. If you fail to do so your empeg-car unit may not function and it
will be necessary to apply the upgrade again using the correct version of
empegUpgrade or upgclient.

We strongly recommend completely de-installing the previous emplode before
installing the new one, which installs into a different location.

So nyah, I out bitched you!
