Selling a Tuner Module on Ebay

Ok, I've hit a budgetary crunch this month, my bank account has $2.24 in it due to several unexpected expenses. So my new and uninstalled and unopened empeg tuner originally slated for my Saab has to go. I don't believe in putting outrageous prices for "Buy it now" and reserves. So I put the tuner up for $1 and whatever it sells at, it sells at. I feel like a traitor for putting empeg related material on ebay. Egads.

It's clearly time to ebay my one tuner module, so that I can afford two new ones when we finally get a new batch made....
(and yes, I am kidding, I think)

Can some Ebay expert translate what happened for me, I don't understand the action at the end of this auction:
Started Feb-12-02 14:02:26 PST
Ends Feb-19-02 14:02:26 PST
oneeye73 (63) $406.00 Feb-17-02 23:40:56 PST - winner
3amsw (7) $401.00 Feb-19-02 14:02:04 PST
jpelzlaustin (21) $351.00 Feb-19-02 12:37:27 PST
oneeye73 (63) $333.33 Feb-17-02 23:40:15 PST
So oneeye placed a bid on the 17th for $333, then two other people placed bids after him (3amsw was trying to snipe 20 seconds before the end of the auction), but oneye wins with a bid placed 40 minutes after his first, which was two days ago. Huh? If oneye's max bid was above $406, wouldn't it show him beating jpelzlaustin as well in the meantime?

That doesnt make much sense at all, especially considering it shows his bid to be 40 secs, not 40 minutes after his first.

I think it's two bids, but the second bid only displayed once...one placed for 333.33 that won it, then another placed 40 seconds later for a different amount and this biid did beat jpelzlaustin, but the same bid also beat the sniper. So it only shows a bid once...it looks the same based on the stuff down below with jamville, too.

This is what seems like happened...
oneeye73 placed a bid for $333.33 at 23:40:15. Then 40 seconds later decided to put in a proxy bid for a higher amount.
To my knowledge, eBay hides the progression of a proxy bid. So, what you're seeing is two different bids.

> Then 40 seconds
Sorry about the time discrepency, I meant seconds...really!
> eBay hides the progression of a proxy bid.
Ok, that helps. So at no time was jpelzlaustin beating oneye, it just doesn't bother to show it.
Thanks everyone,

I dare someone to put one up and list the "reserve price" as "Your Soul" or "Your First-Born".

I don't understand the action at the end of this auction:
My guess is that oneeye put in a first bid at $333.33, then got nervous when he found he was only $13 above the previous high bid. So then he put in a bid of probably $450--$500 and said, "OK, let's see somebody beat that bid!"
Had you followed the auction while it was in progress, you would have seen that oneeye was high bidder right up to the end -- nobody else's bid was enough to unseat him. The clue is that the second-highest bid is exactly the $5.00 minimum increment below the winning bid, so the winning bid was almost certainly placed by ebay's proxy bid service.
3amsw tried to snipe him, but his bid wasn't high enough, and he didn't have time (or inclination) to try a second snipe at a higher price. If I had to guess, I would bet that oneeye's max bid was $444.44.

Yea, damn for that kinda cash you can buy a nice CD Transport with RDS, tuner, everything built in (albeit it's another DIN) but ~$400+ for something that gives you FM radio is ludicris, That module couldn't cost more than $15 to make.

Well I know * I * would sleep very good when I just sold my tuner for over $400 .
It's a free market, he can do whatever he wants with it.
Mind you, I have a tuner but I would not sell it for $400. Hmm that makes me wonder, does this mean that for me it's worth more than $400 ??

For a limited time only... just wait until Hugo gets the next batch of tuners rolling for $99.00.
Sell it while you can still make a profit!

..and I don't expect to see a hint of a complaint from people who paid $400 for their tuners when that happens!
(I think they will be a bit more than $99 though - the factory are going to make us pay for low volume!)
