Yesterday I fumbled my Empeg while getting out of the car. It was in its case and it only fell about a foot. Problem is now that it does not start up. At home when first plugged in the Blue light to the right briefly lights and nothing more. Same thing happens in the car when the ignition is turned on. I have looked inside to verify everthing is connected. Everything looks fine. I was wondering if there is an internal fuse? Any ideas?

Thanks

Jason

Yes, there are several internal fuses. Maybe it's something as simple as a connector that got jarred loose. Please contact support by e-mailing [email protected] and they can help you diagnose what might be wrong.

Are you absolutely sure it's not just the nipple broken off the VFD? If this has happened and the player's in pause mode it would look like the player's dead. Have you tried pressing the top button to see if it starts playing?

Just an idea.

Yeah, pics of a broken nipple are in the FAQ now, here. So check that.

I had to ship my player across Canada when I first received it from overseas...When I powered it up at the other end, I found I had the exact same symtoms as described above. I shook the player slightly and it rattled...soon the tell-tale broken nipple fell out of the case. Sure enough, my VFD was gone. It cost me a big dollar to get it replaced.

Sorry for the bummer news if that's what your problem turns out to be...

My VFD is still in place. I noticed the red LED on the inside does not light. Looks like i am going to ship it back to the UK for repair. Thanks for all your help
