Quote: Today I spent a couple hours removing trojans and spyware from my parents' PC. The spyware infections seemed to coincide with my mom deciding to switch ISPs to PeoplePC.
Just a random thought here... my company sells remanufactured Win XP SP0/SP1 PC's to end users and we receive complaint emails from time-to-time about the PC shipping with a virus or a trojan.
The PC's are wiped clean/factory re-imaged before shipment so I'm in no doubt about them arriving clean with the end-user. However, one trait I've observed is that the complaints mostly originate from users from a select few ISP's here in the UK. I suspect that DOS attacks are, for some reason, more prevalent with some ISPs than others. Maybe some ISPs employ filtering technology to cut down on support calls from users with infected PCs?
