In Windows 2000, using TweakUI, there's an option under "General" that says "Prevent applications from stealing focus." I don't know if Win98 has this or not in it's TweakUI. I have this checked and even on those websites that have 7 or 8 windows open up on you, I still stay in the same, original window. The only exception is when the window maximizes itself from Javascript, so it's not a "real" browser window. These also don't tend to show up on the taskbar, either. Pain in the neck, they are!
