altman carpal tunnel Registered: 19/05/1999 Posts: 3457 Loc: Palo Alto, CA	The link light is mostly in hardware, it's not software controlled as far as I remember. I suspect it'll be a bad solder joint or similar, I've never had to swap an ethernet chip (yet). Hugo
