I just tried it, and I don't notice a difference in the amount of gap between a vis and no vis.

Even with a text screen, there is a very brief dropout between the tracks when I test it. My reference for what constitutes gapless playback might be more stringent than yours, though. I'm using the Winamp gapless output plugin that Justin Frankel wrote as my baseline for judging gapless play.
