Okay people,
here is a completely unofficial 2.0b3 IR-Trans kernel. You have to unzip it and untar it, the file is named zImage. It works for me, it should work for you. If it doesn't, you probably need mappings other than the defaults which Frank has in the kernel. Those defaults are as follows:
Source = Translated
0x00A25D0A = 0x00B94614
0x00A25D0B = 0x00B94615
0x00A25D43 = 0x00B9460B
0x00A25D42 = 0x00B9460A
0x00A25D12 = 0x00B9465E
0x00A25D1A = 0x00B9461F
0x00A25D0C = 0x00B9460E
0x00A25D40 = 0x00B9461B
0x00A25D41 = 0x00B9460F
0x00A25D19 = 0x00B94603
0x00A25D0D = 0x00B94600
You'll need to read Frank's documentation if you need to change mappings, which is a matter of "catting" a file to the /proc/empeg_ir device. These defaults are based on a Pioneer steering wheel remote.
For those who really don't feel comfortable mucking around with their init script or working out their own IR codes, I will try to do a few custom ones as my time permits. I will, however, need to know what your source codes are and what you want them to do on your Empeg. I know the buttons for the CD-SR77 because I own it, but I can't get "source" hex codes for other remotes which I do not own. You can discover what codes your remote is sending by... uh... there's some utility somewhere, help me out here somebody. But I encourage you to try to follow Frank's instructions, the worst thing that can happen is you'll waste a little time and you'll have to re-flash the 2.0b3 upgrade, but you might learn something, and it's fun!
Well, let me know if this works for you guys. I am not the author of this patch, so any questions/suggestions/compliments should go to Frank, he did the work.
