After a complete overhaul of the program, a new version of emptool is now available! Go to

for all your Beta 8c needs. You will need the new upgclient from 0.80 in order to install the Beta 8c release. Please note that pre-Beta 8c client programs (old versions of emptool, upgclient and emplode) will not work with Beta 8c players, and vice versa. Make sure you run the latest versions of these programs with a Beta 8c player.

Refer to 'empeg-car/README' in the linux tools for more details.

Script writers will be glad to see numeric codes for operations performed by emptool.

What John forgot to mention, to avoid confusion, is that emptool is the download client for Linux. Windows users will not need this program.
