No, it's not broken or anything, but I need the beta 7 of emplode! I see I'm quite far behind in the software upgrades, and I can't be bothered to upgrade my software at the moment. I'm leaving on my 4th of July weekend vacation immediately after work, and I've got some CD's I want to burn for the horrible drive it's going to be going south on the beltway. For those who don't know the area, I'm going to have to go through one of the worst traffic spots in the entire country - the Springfield Interchange - and do it on the 4th weekend. Ugh.
So I'm going to want to have some new music! Can anyone help me by pointing me to the old beta versions??

Emplode 2.00b11 will work with a 2.00b7 player.

for a moment I thought you meant 'pre-release Beta test 7'. As in, two years (?) ago.
Couldn't imagine why you'd need something that old!

Now I have another problem in the process. I'm trying to install Audiocatalyst on my work computer, but for some reason now it doesn't like NT. This machine is running XP and it says "You are running Windows NT, but you have not installed any ASPI manager and MSCDEX calls cannot be used under Windows NT."
How do I get it to find a CDROM drive?

Thanks. I downloaded and installed it, but now in Audiocatalyst, in the settings page, I can't click on anything in the "CD-ROM Access Method" area. the pull-down box is empty, and I simply cannot click on anything in that specific box. I can click on other items in the settings menu, like the filename scheme and all that, but not the CDROM part. Argh. It's the same thing that happened on my computer at home when I tried to solve this problem. That machine is running 2K.

Maybe reinstall AudioCat? Any NT install (xp or 2000) needs that ASPI installed... make sure you downloaded the onefor your OS... But I've only used AudioGrabber and EAC..

damn. nope. reinstalled AC twice and it's still doing the same thing. I downloaded the one for every version of Windows, or so they said it was. It looks like it autodetects.
I tried downloading another ripping program from Cnet, but it also couldn't find the CDROM. I don't know what to do...

Move on to EAC...it is a lot better then AC, anyway AC is not longer supported by Xing (or Real) but still gets some support from the orignal author.

Okay, so I've moved to EAC. You're right, it's a lot better and it's free. So that's good.
Now, where can I find LAME? I'm not going to rip all these to WAV files and then name them manually. No thanks.
EAC is better, but they need ot work on the interface a little. Otherwise, good program.

I think someone did post something like that just the other day...
Ah, yeah... Here's a good guide to setting it all up, including links to download both EAC and LAME.

Thanks! I figured out how to do it with BladeEnc, but I'll try LAME when I have more time.
