OK .. 39 is going up (give it about 5-10 mins -- I have a crappy connection now that I moved ... no more spoiled by 768k dsl )

38 Changes (I added a couple quick things in and made a 38 before Tony reported that bug)

new "decade" tag available in jEmplode -- This takes all your 1981, 1982, 1983 and returns "1980" for them. You'll see why this is kind of neat in a sec.

new customizable soup playlists - this isn't the mirroing thing yet, but basically now you can design your own soup playlists (like if you wanted By Genre/By Artist instead of the builtin type, you can do that now). Now you see why decade might be kind of neat -- Not just By Year -- you could have By Decade/By Artist.

Loop at the very bottom of www.jempeg.org/faq.html to find out how to do thse. Keep in mind that the more of these you have, the slower jEmplode's going to get on downloading and updating after making changes (since it has to propogate all the changes to all the soup nodes). The flip side is that you can remove the current ones if you want it to get faster (i.e. no soup nodes). You'll always have "All" and "Searches".

39 Changes
Fixed the bug that basically made Wendy Filter editing not work at all.

Mike

Hmm, I just upgraded to v39 and the latest hijack and I can no longer connect to my empeg over ethernet from jemplode. Emptool still works, but jemplode does not from either OSX or FreeBSD. Strange.

OK, got it. Something weird mush have happened with my .jempegrc, as soon as I moved that file it started working again. It was working fine with v37 and broke when I went to v39. I attached the old .jempegrc in case you want to take a look at it.

Did you check the Connection Options dialog? Did everything look correct? I have a memory of maybe renaming a configuration option, but I can't for the life of me figure out what it was ....

I just used the jempegrc you attached on my 39 on OS X (and changed the unicast ip address) and it worked. Yours was set to Specific IP Address and not for Broadcast discovery ... It would have reset to broadcast if you removed .jempegrc . Can you check the IP Address in that .jempegrc and make sure it's correct for your Empeg?

Weird. The IP was correct, it was originally on unicast but during troubleshooting I put in the actual IP to make sure it wasn't a unicast problem.

Well now I have another problem. I am unable to upload any files with v39. It creates directories, and uploads the song info fids but not the actual songs. The sync goes way to fast and then when after it reboots I get a message like "There was no tune or playlist that has ID 288" for each song I tried to upload.

Forgot to mention that I tried both fast and regular connections to two different empegs and had the same problem in all scenarios.

Mike, could you add instructions on custom columns to the jEmplode FAQ? I'll find them here on the board, but they belong in the FAQ as well...
