From the site: FreeBase was written to allow Windows users to configure the Base Station, and to allow replacing the WaveLan card with a 'WaveLan/Orinoco Gold' card so users can have strong encryption. I thought some of the folks who have posted about wanting wireless ethernet, but not been interested in the AirPort because it's a pain to configure from non-Macs, might be interested. drakino carpal tunnel Registered: 08/06/1999 Posts: 7868	I grabbed the program and got ready to play when my Airport acted up. It refuses to let any software log into it to configure it, unless it's in the reset mode. Problem is, the software does support uploading the firmware and such, but it says to refer to the readme.txt for instructions. Thay has nothing about the firmware, and I have no clue what file to feed it. But for anyone out there looking for a cheap wireless access point in a non Mac enviornment, this now completes everything needed to use an Airport with PC's. The software has every option the Mac software does, plus the ability to edit the modem log in scripts.

Fortunately, when I changed jobs in February, I spec'ed VPC for my new PowerBook. Registration number 1430
