yay!
a sign of life!

even though the RDS issues I have are not touched, its a good sign
much better than that 'yes we know you want the promised linux client' post by bioware in their NWN boards.

and now for the dumb questions:

just noticed a flashing dot in the bottom left corner of the display when the 'seek tool' is active, WTF is that?

bye,
[L]

maybe. it 'almost' is in sync with the music. but in a more general way, not only flashing along the bassline, or along with the trebles or the like...

now If I only had a working RDS...

ps. any hints for fixing that 'volume knob gets sort of loose when hot' issue, by car's AC is broken and will cost $F*CKING_HUGE_SUM to get it fixed , speaking of 1000¤ <-euro! for ther parts alone!!

yea, compressor died...
bad things:
  • warranty's over
  • AC is the dual-compressor one in a VW sharan
  • VW man told me the spare compressor alone would be ~~ 1000€

I would not trust the VW guy as he ain't a ac expert he is a car expert.

Compressors don't just die for no reason, if it did die it would be due to loss of oil through leaky seal which can be caused by you not using ac in cold weather.

You could of lost your gas which could be a duff seal again.

Ac is a thing to me that needs lots of maintance but i work with far larger units.

Also VW will charge silly money for a compressor i would be very surprised if you could not get it a compressor from another source.

but I guess when the garage manager tells me that the original VW ac compressor for the ac in my car costs 1000 bucks, he is right...

ac was in 'always-on' mode

maybe, but where...

I'll have the AC checked at next inspection cycle anyways, we'll see what ails it...

My AC compressor died on me a couple of years back.
The GM dealer wanted about the same as yours for a new one.

I bought an used one from a crashed 2000 modell, got the dealer to put it in.
Saved me over the half, with labour and compressor.

May be a way to go for you too...?

I would bet you can get the part for less someplace else. The VW dealer near me (in the USA) charges about double what I can get the same parts for over the internet from several places.
