I posted yesterday how I was havinf trouble with my MK2a(60Gb) and nowtoday I amalso having problems with my Mk2. It is actually pretty ironic....My Mk2A will not boot up and now my MK2 will not shut down in the car. So one won't turn on the other will not turn off. Maybe if I put them together I can get one good one!!!1J/K

I am waiting to here back from support about the MK2a as we speak.

As for the MK2, I am running 2.0b13 with hijack. It boots fine runs fine but does not shut down or go into stand by when I shut off the car and get out of it. Does anyone know if this is a common problem or a known problem?

Sounds like a blown fuse on the continuous power or ignition wires. Or perhaps some other wiring problem with the sled. Or perhaps both: for example, you had the ignition and permanent power wires reversed but thought it was OK because it sort of worked for a while, then the fuse blew and now it's completely tango uniform.

Do both players work on the AC adapter?

Do the 2 players work using the AC adapter? Yes....Well that is until my Mk2a started to develop problems yesterday.(I will post some test results I got from swapping cable and such in the thread I posted yesterday)
I don't understand how it normally goes into standby just fine with the MK2A but does not with the MK2 if the wiring to the sled is not correct. Can this still be a problem or can I rule it out?

Do you know the difference between Standby mode and full-power-off mode?

I could be wrong but, I thought that stand by mode is what happens when you turn the car off and the led continues to blink for a length of time set in Emplode and full power down is just that...the power is cut just as if it was unplugged from the AC adapter when in the house.

Correct, I just wanted to make sure that when you were describing the symptoms that we were on the same page. This is strange, it kind of stumps me. Have you de-installed the sled and checked all the wiring and fuses (and the docking connector)?
