I've had an ongoing problem since upgrading to version 2.00 beta 13 (developer) all those months ago. I'm currently running Hijack 300 as well. The Empeg will for no apparent reason reboot itself. It happens in the car, it happens on my desk. It even happens when using the tuner. It's not a wiring issue since it also does it with AC on my desk. Like I said, this has been going on for months, and through several versions of Hijack, so I don't think it's related to one version. Has anyone else seen anything like this?

Thanks,
Jeff

Have you left it in "Info:Line" mode with the time format set to "Clock?"

If so, known bug. Change off of the clock in the status line and display track time instead.

My empeg was doing this as well, then I got a no hardrive found error.... Patrick sent me a new ide cable and I've seen it very few times (like twice) since then....

I don't think that's it since it also reboots when on radio. I use the signal strength view with the radio instead of line:info mode. It will just be sitting there playing either the player or radio and the audio will drop off, I'll look down and it will be rebooting just as if I had just plugged it in.

Actually, my unit has had the IDE cable and one HD replaced already. I was having HD not found errors, the new IDE cable did not help. Traced to bad HD. Had it replaced under warranty by Fujitsu...

There's also a problem where some of the IDE connectors on the empeg's motherboard were not soldered well. This could conceivably be affecting you, too.

does the empeg do a full reboot or just restart the player? you can tell by looking for the boot animation.
