The harddrive on my wife's 10G has started making kind of a muted clicking noise (hard to describe it -- it's not a click, but it's not a thump) when it starts and when it syncs ... Has anyone had this happen before, and is it a sign of impending failure, or no big deal? So nothing seems to be messed up with it ...

If it is barely noticeable, it could well be normal. Mine clicks when booting up, it should NOT click under normal operation, however. That would be a sign of impending doom.
