I have an Empeg Mark2. The remote control stopped working so I tried replacing the battery. That didn't work. I tried taking off hijck and reinstalling the OS on the empeg. I tried my friends remote and it wouldn't work either but my remote will work on his empeg just fine. It is a RIO remote not a Kenwood. We tried mine inside my house and in my car to see if that might be part of the problem. I'm guessing that there is a problem with the IR reciever. Is their anything that I can do to fix this problem. I don't have a receipt if that makes a difference. Also my remote works occasionally but only for a distance of maybe two inches which doesn't help me at all. Please, I need to control the empeg while laying in bed with out getting up.

Also if I have an Onkyo learning remote I assume that would work with the Empeg.

In addition to replacing the battery, please go through the remaining diagnostic steps listed here. You need to narrow down whether the problem is in the player or in the remote itself. I tried the video camera trick as well and I saw the flashing light. But that shouldn't matter cause I said it worked on my friends empeg. I also sent an email to [email protected] so hopefully they can help me.

how did you finally end up with your problem?
i've got the same problem but didn't mess too much around with it... currently i live without the search function but sometimes this suck...
so - what did the guys tell you to do?
