Since I can't justify an empeg in my budget right now, I'd like to use the RIO Riot in my truck with an FM modulator (I've got the Ford premium 6disc changer without a cassette deck and it does sound good enough). Anyone know if there is a difference in any of the cigarette lighter adapters available? Is it safe to assume that *any* adapter that gives the same output as the wall wart (5v I think) will be acceptable?

I think it would be safe as long as you match the voltage and polarity of the wall wart. I used mine in a rental car for a week and would pause the player instead of turning it off due to it's inability to restart in the same position and when you turn it off. The battery would last the whole day and then some. One day I had it going for about 10 hours until it died so I wouldn't bother with the power adaptor.
