Has anybody here had any experiences with the 'Minds @ Work" MindStor products?

Looks like a really basic file copying system with Firewire, USB, an internal HD and a PCMCIA slot, for which they sell a 4:1 adapter - SmartMedia, CF, SD & Memorystick. I can think of a few uses for one. They're marketing it as a file repository for digital media (cameras etc) when you're away from your PC/Laptop.

That looks like a nifty little product. I know of several people that a product like that would great for, including someone who's going to Europe for a long while. With a device like that, storage capacity becomes a moot point.

I'm looking for a PC docking solution. My bad motherboard (Soyo Dragon) came with a CF card reader for a 3.5" bay. It supports type II CF and SD, I think, and has 2 USB ports. Now that I have to replace my motherboard, I'm sure that the new one will not support the reader, so I'm looking for a new one. All I can seem to find are those 6-in-1 readers with every digital media format imaginable. I don't want/need that. Any idea where I can find a type II CF reader that fits in a 3.5 bay? I'd even go for a bigger doo-dad that goes in a 5.25" bay, if the additional features are cool./usefull enough. If it has other gadgets in it, that's okay. This has been a tough product for me to find.

You can get a front bayPCMCIA adapter and then just use a CF adapter. It'll be much more versatile but it would be more expensive than a USB reader.

My friend has the older generation one (Digital Wallet). I think his is a 3GB one that he picked up for under $200. He took it to Europe for a few weeks and said it worked great. Does what it says.

It's definitely cheaper than buying the equivalent amount in storage media (like CF or SD).
