I was talking to my parents yesterday about times past, and my mind wandered to a song my Grandfather used to play for me when I was a child. Unfortunately, I cannot find it for the life of me. It's really silly, I'd probably listen to it once, think it ws silly, and delete it, but I'm driving myself nuts trying to figure a way to find a copy. BTW, It's Hey Shirley, by Shirley and Squirrely. Like I said, I was a child.... anyway, Any Ideas?

I hear that all the time on the Dr. Demento show. It shouldn't be too hard to find a recording of a show from a date on which it played. You can look through the playlists on www.drdemento.com and see what days it was played. Just an FYI, I searched the newsgroups and there isn't a posting (currently) of any shows from any of those dates, otherwise I would've downloaded it for ya. Give it time and it'll show up eventually, it was (still is) a fairly popular song.

Does anyone have an account on RadioMOI.com and Total Recorder?

Yeah, I tried the newsgroups too, I just figgured it's just a little too obscure. I'll keep looking though... thanks!

Sorry, I was really pleased with myself then! You know that you can get their Christmas Album on Amazon - not that's what you are after.
I want to hear this song now - and I didn't know it existed when I came to work this morning!
Things get a bit quiet round here Christmas week, I'll keep looking.

Some say: More tactile and have a warmer sound
Bloody difficult to play in the car though! Although Philips did have a car 45 player in the 60's.

That's sweet! I've been making files from these old Bing Crosby albums for my dad. Those would be perfect!

Hehehe, then I'd have to buy my first record player. When Grandad played it, it was on 8-track. Wow.
