For the benefit of non-UK readers, there is a consultation going on as to whether the UK needs identity (sorry "entitlement") cards. An
article in The Register reminded me I hadn't sent off my reply yet.
They have been fairly quiet about publicising it and the 13Mb PDF download might be a little off-putting to people wanting to read the arguments :-(
Until 10th Jan there were 1500 responses, of which
they say people were 2:1 in favour.
www.stand.org.uk put up an helpful feedback submitter and
Privacy International has a phone > email converter (which is ok, according to gov.uk) so if anyone in the UK hasn't sent their thoughts and wants to, then click a link above and have a go!
The stand website has sent 2513 up to now, so that should tip the balance a little!
