Anyone seen the SSI America website and the NEO car Jukebox? They've been trying to sell that thing for years, but the website is new and it looks like they just had a major launch. 40 gigs for $439. Not as attractive as the Rio, and more cumbersome, but seeing as it's all but impossible to find a Rio for sale, maybe they'll succeed. You guys are the experts - what are your opinions? (personally I'd never ditch my Rio, but if I never had the opportunity to purchase one....??)

If you can't get the rio, go for the phatbox.

I should update that page... There are a few Phatbox things which now need modification. I'd love to be able to do a big update of the empeg column as well... (not so subtle hint directed toward Cambridge )

I may develop my domain into an actual "site" - had another one of those early-morning brain-storms the other day. Now I just have to find the time (I also have to set up a new site for my parents' cottage resort property). In any case, I'd be keeping that matrix and supporting it with a quality review focusing on the Riocar. Time to bring that voice recorder out of storage so I don't forget all the ideas I have during my drives to work.

Great idea, Bruno. I'd like to see the Dension units and some of the other hard-disk based units added to that matrix. You've seen www.dpreview.com right? I could see a site like that, only have it completely devoted to car MP3 players. That would be really cool.
