I got around to updating the web site a little - newsletter 13 is online, and a few facts and figures have been updated.

Nothing very exciting - the whole site will be replaced soon!

Time is an illusion, lunchtime doubly so.

You should send that in to the reader's digest. They've got a page for people like you...
Sorry.. =)

As long as Rob doesn't tell you that you absolutely must run down to the pub and get a couple of pints in you very quickly, we're OK.

"It's rather uncomfortably like being drunk."
"What's so bad about being drunk?"
"Ask a glass of water."

Silly Question #21412 -

Where is the page with the software releases linked FROM?

I can't seem to find that page linked from anywhere except in passing on a news blurb on the front page.

Seems... well, sorta important, don't you think? :) Maybe linked off the Software page, and/or the Player page?

Just a thought. :)

Yeah, I'd thought about mentioning this, too. There ought to be more than just the news blurb about the software releases location.

It's not linked. We don't want to encourage tens of thousands of people to download the software to "just have a look" and then discover that it does absolutely nothing without a Car player being hooked up. This would be bad for our bandwidth, and a waste of their time and money.

When a new version is released we announce it in a mailing to clients, along with the URL (which is also mentioned in the userguide - or if it isn't, it will be soon!).

The new web site will have a much nicer software download system.

FWIW, I never got any notice of 9 or 9a.. I read about it HERE.

That "knowledge distribution" needs to be better. I think the benefits of having a link to the software far outweigh the small number of "curious parties" who will waste bandwidth.

My $0.02 worth.

It is better on the new site, there's a dedicated downloads section which will, hopefully, allow us to keep track of who has which version of the software. This will be very useful for support.

I haven't sent out notification of release 9 yet. We like to announce it here first and get some feedback before mailing the entire clientbase. In this case a few bugs have come to light, so I'm waiting for Beta9B before emailing everyone.
