My girlfriend has been looking into getting something like my Empeg for her car, but seeing as she's a full time student the Empeg is a little out of her price range right now My question is, if she gets the Rio Riot it's possible to hook it up to the aux in line of her head unit, right? I mean, I don't see why not, but I wanted to check just to make sure. Thanks!

Only if her head unit *has* an aux-in.

But if it does, yeah, you can plug just about anything into it. Riot, iPod, Pearl...

Well, she has a newer aftermarket cd player in there, but I'm going to check. Now, do you think she'll need an amplifier as well?

Nope... she shouldn't. It should be a line level in on the AUX Input. I've done this with Kelly's Riot and it works fine.

I love my new Riot, but I wouldn't like to try using it while driving, it is a bit of a two handed affair. The screen is spot on, very sharp. The interface takes a little getting used to if you are used to the Empeg.

Cheers

Cris.

Well... it's not mine, it's my girlfriends, but she LOVES it! I don't use it much, but when i have i haven't had any issues with it other than the tired topic of the shoddy software for loading. I'm considering picking one up for myself at the current price!

By the way, if there is no AUX-IN on the back of the receiver, don't count that option out. There are adapters for Pioneer, Kenwood and others that plug into the CD-Changer port and provide an AUX input.
