Has anyone had any luck with car laptop desks? I guess the two choices are a mounted bracket or a passenger seat desk. Does anyone have one of either? Your thoughts? I hate to spend the two hundred or so dollars they seem to run having not seen one in use.

I've been thinking about making something to put my laptop in my car. Problem is that I have a '92 eclipse and it is TINY inside. There really isn't any room to do it, but im still trying to find a way I've seen some people put a docking port under their seat and then use like a 5-7" lcd screen, this seems like it would be cool but more work then its worth.. plus my laptop only has a 12.1 in screen so its pretty small. Do you have links for the in car brackets? I looked around but could only find some REALLY expesive ones ($300+).

Fry's at one point carried a laptop stand that hooked onto your steering wheel. I always found it amazing every time I saw it. I havn't seen one in years, so perhaps common sense got the better of someone.

That being said, try checking your local police force? Most of the cars I've looked inside recently have a laptop mounted for the driver. I've never paid any attention to the asthetics, but I doubt they do either.
