Not sure where exactly. I first heard it on a local radio station in Glasgow about 3 years ago - but they had taken it from somewhere else in turn. I thought BBC radio as well.

ha ha ha unbelieveable! Although this yankee over here couldn't make heads or tails of the first few seconds of it. Those accents are rather thick for me.

I asked on a nerdy tv/radio forum and they reckon it's Billy Butler on BBC Radio Merseyside or Radio City Gold (depending on year) probaby on the Sony Bronze award winning quiz "Hold Your Plums"
