Hi Guys,
Not sure whats wrong with my EMPEG. I try to load songs onto via Emplode and it always gives me warnings. I tried ethernet and serial.. I am using XP. I have read the help but nothing seems to be working for me. WHen I check the player it is showing the new playlists but no mp3s. I have tried numerous things but I am not sure why its not working. What is the correct procedure to load the songs on using XP? are there fixes or software I am missing? I noticed that if some songs go on.. it says "building music database" for an extremely long time... not sure what the story is. Any help is very much appreciated

it always gives me warnings.
Can you describe the warnings, sir?

are there fixes or software I am missing?
Dunno, what software are you running now (player and emplode both please)?

I noticed that if some songs go on.. it says "building music database" for an extremely long time...
That's this one. It might be the only issue and everything else is just a symptom of the problem. Then again, it might be the symptom, and something even worse might be the problem...

What is the correct procedure to load the songs on using XP?
You said you were using serial and ethernet, not USB, so in that case XP is no different than any other operating system. (USB doesn't work under XP yet... it will soon...)

Hi
Ok Put in Serial (figure its the basic cable to use) Open Emplode

Error MSG: Download failed while rebuilding database Error 0xc004101e

below says rebuidling database error

didint even boot on this time.

Using
Win XP
Empload 2.0-beta13
2.0-beta13 on the player

The other warnings I was getting was when i loaded songs on to it... i will try again to find the exact wording.

Did you follow that link to the troubleshooting for the database error, that I linked in my first post? Did you do both of the things it suggested (check for disk drive trouble, then delete the database)?

Did you load emphatic or anything that loads via the hijack EXEC lines lately?

If so, just boot the player, go to the hijack menu and shut it off, then sync.
