Call me masochist. Or just say that I
really want to play Worms again.
I want to try this dual-boot thing, but I want to go in with advice from you guys this time. To clarify, I want to set up a dual-boot of Win2K (already installed) and Win98SE (not installed). I can't put 98 on my primary drive (C:)because it is NTSF, as is my secondary drive (D:). That leaves:
Rob (robricc) said in the other thread:
Many new motherboards with AMI bios will allow you to hit F8 at POST to select what drive to boot off of. Since the Promise controller is seen as a SCSI card, just hit F8 and tell it to boot off the Promise. Win98, I would assume, should not have a problem booting fine from the Promise controller even though other physical hard drives are present on the Pri/Sec IDE controller.
This is what would work out best for me. I have a third drive (drive G:) attatched to a PCI IDE controller card. If there were some way I could chose to boot from that drive, that would be ideal. I don't really use it for much else anyway. Plus, it's FAT32, I believe, so setting up Win98 shouldn't be a problem.
So, is this doable?
