One doesn't need a "fully loaded debian" to run telnetd..

http://www.trejan.com/empeg/#EMPTELNETD

Works great for me.

Cool, works great. BTW, I found GDB for ARM in the same website. This is cool.

Yeah, you'd be amazed what other stuf you find for the empeg if you look around these forums, and the software section of riocar.org.

Absolutely. BTW, how do I make it run when my player starts? I guess, I need to change init?

Yes, that's one way. Another way is to use Hijack's "Exec" feature (although I don't know if you're able to run the Hijack kernel or not, I get the impression you've put a full Debian distro on your player?). Another way is to use "preinit", which can be found with a BBS search.

Note that if you run any programs from /Drive0 you won't be able to synch with the player because it will prevent the drive from being mounted and unmounted by Emplode. So you need to either put things on a different partition, or use Hijack which lets you exec only in DC mode if you like.

Thanks. I am running on an Hijack kernel compiled on my Linux-9 machine. Yes, when I tried to compile, it asks me for a command line. I guess, I should put "telnetd" there.

No, just hit enter. The commandline is ignored anyway, I think.

The ;@EXEC lines go in the player's config.ini file.

Cheers
