I've got a few questions about logos. It seems you can download several from this site. What I don't understand is, how do I customize the ones I download? For example, there's one called Phone and 2.0 Tux that says something like "Reward if returned" with a fake phone number. I think something like that would be handy, so if I download it, how do I go about editing it so I can put my info in there? Or do I have to start from scratch? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Have a look at Tonys LogoEdit, you can find it on RioCar.org at the top of this page. It's a very good piece of software and you'll find all the support you need on this forum.

Ok, I'm a moron. I downloaded the logo editor and the logo I want to edit, but I still can't figure out how to do it. Is there a How-to for this program somewhere?

It's like a painting program. Have you opened up the logo (file/open) and tried clicking on it?

I was able to open the logo I wanted (just copied and pasted it). So I just have to free hand the changes? I don't see any kind of MS Paint style toolbar...

It's supposed to have a toolbar. Did you drag it offscreen or something?

How do I get the boot logo from my computer to the player? I usually use an ethernet connection to connect to the player. Can I send it that way or do I have to hook up the serial connection?

You can do it serial or ethernet, goto file and then "send boot logos to player com1" or "send boot logos to player (ftp)"

Remember that the FTP feature only works if you've got Hijack installed. And if you don't have a serial connection already, then you can't install Hijack...

I'd like to change it back. Not sure why that happened. 2) is there a way to change how long the custom logo stays up? Thanks.

Do you mean that it changed from "Rio Digital Audio" to "Empeg" with the waving tux? If so, select the "File/Set Empeg/Rio Personality" menu in Logoedit.

No.

(Not exacty. But you can achieve the same effect.)

With Hijack and Jemplode, you can customize the animated part of the boot (the Rio Digital Audio or the waving tux) so that it displays any frames you want. Some or all of those frames could be the same as your custom boot logo.
