Every song became an orphan (all 3500 of 'em). I dont know how it happened. Any idea how to fix it? Also, the whole directory is screwed up by that I mean subdirectories become directories and so on. Anybody?

It might be this problem. Do you have a two-disk-drive player?

If not, maybe you just need to rebuild the database?

I've tried rm /empeg/var/database but still doesnt work. I had a similar problem before. Synching in Emplode worked but not this time.

In that other thread, ISTR it turned out it was because the root playlist was missing. Sounds like the first thing I linked in my message above (missing one disk drive).

Is there an easy way to get orphan songs back to where they belong? It seems that my directory playlists fell apart but everything is still there. Does that make any sense?
