This area is for discussion on the Karma player, now officially announced by Rio. In the coming weeks, a full board will appear for the Karma.

I wish the site also listed the 40-gig version, even it if says "not available until later". I think it would be good for marketing for people to know that this thing can/will beat the new iPod in capacity.
But I'm not a marketing type, so perhaps there's a good reason not to list the 40's yet.

The 40GB version was on the player comparison list, but not on the Karma page proper. Unless they plan a separate page for it.

Yeah, it is a big selling point to have a 40gig version. They definately should have had it listed.
AND they could have spent a bit more time and made their site compatible with Mozilla.

For some reason, this forum doesn't seem to know which posts I've read and which I haven't. THe numbers on the Main Index seem right, but once I get to the Karma General index, everything appears to have been read, though when I go to the actual flattened thread, the icons are yellow and orange as should be.
Weird. Maybe I just need to log out and back in.

If they list the 40GB now, then nobody will buy the 20GB version..

Could be a glitch since most of the threads here were moved from General.

For some reason, this forum doesn't seem to know which posts I've read and which I haven't. This happened to me, as well. The solution is to logout by clicking on the word "Logout" near the top of the screen, then log back in again. After you do that, all the post counts will work correctly as they should.

True, true, but I still don't know that many people with > 20gigs of music.
Many people I know would buy the 20gig version just because it's cheaper and they don't have THAT much music.
And then there's Paul.

You rang???
I think I might get a 20. Mainly because my day to day listening lists would still fit in a 20 (although come prettty close), and the 40s are not available yet. But if the 40 was out, I would probably get that instead.
The site is taking pre-orders, I noticed...

they could have spent a bit more time and made their site compatible with Mozilla. Seriously. It's awful under Mozilla.

Totally wretched.. gonna get bad press on Slashdot for sure with a site like that.
The details links for Karma are broken, but not for all of the other players..

Also worth noting that both General and Karma General are visible whether logged in or not. That means the link-following anonymous visitors will be back, at least to some degree.
